The Power of Encouragement: Why I Add Biblical Phrases to My Designs

At By Mo Designs, every piece I create comes from a place of intention—and for many of my designs, that intention is rooted in faith. One question I often get asked is: “Why do you include biblical phrases on your jewelry and accessories?” The answer is simple but powerful: because the Word of God carries weight, and I believe in the life-giving power of Scripture.

I’ve always loved the way a single verse can lift someone’s heart. Whether it’s “Be still and know,” “You are loved,” or “She is clothed with strength and dignity,” these words are more than just text. They’re truth. And in a world that often feels heavy, overwhelming, or uncertain, a small reminder of God’s promises can bring peace, courage, and hope.

The idea to incorporate faith-based messages into my work began years ago when I was creating gifts for a women’s conference. I wanted each woman to walk away with something beautiful, yes—but also something meaningful. Something that would remind her of her identity in Christ, even on the hardest days. That heart behind those first gifts became a permanent part of my design process.

Each phrase I choose is prayerfully considered. I think about the woman who might wear the piece: What is she going through? What does she need to hear? Will this be a gift for someone fighting a quiet battle? A new mom needing grace? A friend celebrating a breakthrough? These aren’t just accessories—they’re touchstones of truth, meant to speak life over the everyday.

It humbles me to know that a small wristlet or a key fob could be the very thing that reminds someone, “I’m not alone” or “God is with me.” That’s the heartbeat behind it all.

So when you see a By Mo piece with a verse or phrase stamped, etched, or woven in, know this: it was placed there with intention. It’s not just art—it’s encouragement. And my prayer is that it blesses you, strengthens you, and reminds you that you are deeply known and loved by the One who created you.
